An excellent summary of the hyperventilating that's gone on over health care reform.

Sen. Tom Coburn came out with his list of proposed amendments to the heath care reform bill. Most people will probably think that his amendment to ban sex offenders from getting Viagra and the like is a good idea.

And it is!

But it also shows how big of an ass-clown Coburn is. By rendering it as an amendment this way, anyone who votes 'yes' on it changes the bill from reconciliation to policy - which means it can be filibustered. The end result is that Republicans get to vote for it, and use the fact that Democrats will vote against it in shallow attack ads.
