I got about 5 minutes into Transformers 2 and hit stop. I'm officially through with this fad.

I think it's mostly laziness in marketing. It's hard to interest people in brand new show, but it's easy to say "Transformers" and get lots of attention. Investors are easier to find and the advertising almost writes itself.

How much longer until they're done strip mining my fondest childhood memories? I admit my brain melted with excitement the first time I saw Transformers 1 on the big screen. I couldn't see it for the piece of shit it really was until the second viewing. Part 2 did even more to reinforce my lack of faith in humanity.

I blame George Lucas. He showed that people who barely remembered Star Wars would pay through the nose for a much inferior barely related creation that bore the name.
